Christophe Colomb pensait que la terre était ronde. Il voulait naviguer

vers l'ouest, vers l'Inde. Il demanda de l'argent et des bateaux à Isabelle,

la reine d'Espagne. Elle lui donna 3 bateaux.

Christophe Colomb quitta l'Espagne en août 1492. Ses hommes lui

faisaient confiance mais ils avaient peur. Ils rencontrèrent des difficultés

et voulurent retourner en Europe. Le célèbre marin refusa.

Le voyage fut long. Après 10 semaines un marin vit un oiseau.

"Terre" cria-t-il"

Christophe Colomb et ses hommes atteignirent une île le 12 octobre 1492

Il l'appela San Salvador.
