- 51²= (50+1)²
= (50+1)(50+1) = 50x50 + 50x1 + 1x50 + 1x1 =2500 + 50 + 50 + 1 = 2601
- 99² = (100-1)² = (100-1)(100-1)
= 100x100 - 100x1 - 1x100 -1x(-1) = 10000 - 100 - 100 + 1 = 9801
- 98x102 = (100-2)(100+2) = 100² - 2² = 10000 - 4 = 9996
( idéntités remarquables, a² - b² = (a+b)(a-b) )
- 101² - 99² = (101-99)(101+99) = 2 x 200 = 400

on utilise les produits remarquables
• (a + b)² = a² + 2ab + b²
51² = (50 + 1)² = 50² + 2 x 50 + 1² = 2500 + 100 + 1 = 2601
• ( a - b)² = a² -2ab + b²
99² = (100 - 1)² = 100² - 2 x 100 + 1² = 10 000 - 200 + 1 = 9 801
• (a - b)(a + b) = a² - b²
98 x 102 = (100 - 2)(100 + 2 = 100² - 2² = 10 000 - 4 = 9 996
101² - 99² = (101 - 99)(101 + 99) = 2 x 200 = 400
