2 Many years ago people lived on cereals.

3.  I met Mwenda as I was leaving school.

4 Kabobo went to another school last year.

5 My father played football in his youth.

6 We were eating our dinner when Kabayo came to pick up his stuff.

7 In the past Manema used to cook a nice dinner.

8 They were shouting when the teacher entered the room.

9 Last year Kikumbi studied very hard.

10 While he was playing football he lost his watch.​

Simple past : actions passées, datées, terminées... / actions courtes qui viennent interrompre une action enn cours dans le passé ...

Past continuous : actions en cours dans le passé ...

past simple = pour une action passée, terminée. (dans les phrases où il n'y a que le past simple, j'ai souligné le marqueur de temps)

past continuous = action passée, qui était en cours ...

Quand une phrase contient les 2 temps, l'action au past simple interrompt celle au past continuous qui était "en train" de se passer....
